Mission: Providing relief and recovery services to conflict-affected Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), host communities, and at-risk communities through a rights-based approach. We work to build resilience with safety and dignity.
Olive Care Foundation - Building Resilience with Safety and Dignity
Olive Care Foundation (OCF) is a national NGO established in March 2019 by a group of humanitarian and development professionals with extensive individual experience in relief, recovery/resilience, and development activities in Nigeria.
These professionals unified their technical experiences and expertise to form OCF, with the mission to help conflict-affected Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), affected host communities, and at-risk communities of natural disaster.
OCF shall remain to be a humanitarian and developmental organization that is committed to provide immediate relief services to people affected by conflicts or natural disaster through a right-based approach, we shall alleviate human suffering, protect the lives of vulnerable people, foster people-driven development and contribute to durable solutions.
OCF envisions a community where people affected by conflict or natural disaster received immediate relief services, improved means of livelihoods and capacity building for people-driven community development towards building community's own resilience strategy.

OCF's Role and Activities in Supporting Safe and Dignified Returns
OCF staff worked closely with other humanitarian partners to assist the returning families in a safe and dignified way.
Their key contributions included:
OCF assisted Danish Refugee Council (DRC) and Center for Advocacy, Transparency & Accountability Initiative (CATAI) in providing immediate food (wet feeding) to the returnees upon arrival. This met urgent basic needs like meals for tired families after their journey.
OCF team members spoke directly with women among the returnees. They explained the importance of enrolling children in school and why education is essential for their future. This awareness effort aims to help families prioritize schooling as they rebuild their lives.
OCF assisted Grassroot Initiative for Strengthening Community Resilience (GISCOR) in guiding the repatriated people from the reception point to their assigned shelters or homes. The accommodations were provided by the Borno State Government to support quick and smooth reintegration.
Through these activities, OCF contributed to making the return process more supportive for vulnerable families, especially women and children. Immediate food help reduced hunger upon arrival, education talks encouraged long-term recovery through learning, and help with relocation eased the transition back home.
This work shows OCF's commitment to teamwork with partners like DRC, CATAI, and GISCOR, and to building resilience in conflict-affected communities in Borno State.
